MEN'S 18 HOLE TUESDAY MORNING LEAGUE W/LESSONS

WELCOME TO
TUESDAY MORNINGS 18 HOLE
MEN'S LEAGUE
2008

A few years ago we realized that there was a need for a men's eighteen hole morning league on a weekday other than Mondays. We also realized that no other golf course was offering a weekly lesson with the leagues that they offered. With this in mind we started our Tuesday morning men's league that included a golf lesson each week, with range balls and a shotgun start instead of tee times. Please read on.

Why should you join this league? You get to play on a quality golf course for a mere $23.00 with people that have the same interests as yourself. You get to improve your game with a golf lesson that includes range balls before play each week. Instead of tee times, everybody starts at the same time with a shotgun start at 9:30 am every Tuesday. You have the chance to win gift certificates that can be used for merchandise, food or drink. We do all the work, from making up the events and pairings, to helping you with your game each week.

What is the cost? registration is $65.00 and includes your WSGA handicap, range balls and golf lesson each week. The golf and prize fee each week is $23.00, times 14 play days for a total of $322.00. Each week's lesson starts at 8:45 to 9:15 with the shotgun start at 9:30. Four dollars of your weekly payment of $23 goes towards the prize fund for that weeks event. Total cost for the season is $401.00. Tuesday May 13 is the start of the season. The schedule is listed on a following page.

What happens if I miss a week of play? No problem, you would receive a credit slip for one weekday round of golf. (One credit slip per ½ of the season allowed). League starts May 13th. No golf on July 1st, scheduled ending date is August 12th.

Golf lessons? The format will be group lessons starting at 8:45 and lasting till 9:15. Each lesson will focus on different aspects of the golf swing. We will also cover sand trap play, chipping, rules and etiquette. Just think, 14 lessons, range balls and a handicap for only $65.00.

Changes that have been made to the course since August of 2000 include: The elimination of sand traps on holes 3, 4, 5 & 15 (replaced with mounding); reconstruction of the front sand trap on #10; new tees on holes 6, 8, 11, 15 & 18. The addition of fairway bunkers on holes 5 & 14.  The creek crossing #12 fairway was filled in three years ago and soded. Certain trees are being cut down to increase playability of the golf course. A new championship tee was added to #6. In other words, improvements are made each year to give you an ever changing and challenging course to play.

Please tell your friends about this great opportunity!

WSGA HANDICAP ·
A handicap is a number that is derived by taking a % of your scores. Take the average of those scores, subtracting that average from the par of the course to come up with a number that you can use as your handicap. This handicap is subtracted from your score that should come close to the par of the course. By doing this, all people can compete fairly against each other, similar to how you figure and use a Bowling handicap.
