“Eight years ago, I joined Muskego Lakes, primarily because some of my friends did, and because I heard it had good camaraderie and a Men's Club with several events. At that time, it was an average semi-private golf club with some good people playing there, but probably not very customer focused. Additionally, the course itself suffered from a drainage problem in the spring, and the overall layout and design had its drawbacks. However, the men and women's events carried it and created a fun and challenging atmosphere. Three or four years ago, the family ownership embarked on a customer focused approach that centered around making the club more of what its playing customers wanted. The staff was gradually upgraded to be better listeners and more involved in solving day to day problems. This included a better teaching staff, headed by Mark Krause, who in my opinion is one of the finest teaching pros in the Midwest. Meanwhile, his brother Steve took the leadership of upgrading the course including drainage, hazards, playability, speed and condition of greens, and consistent fairways. Right in the middle of this, they hired a terrific greens keeper, who made a huge difference. Chris the third brother took charge of the catering, food, and bar and upgraded everything. What resulted is what we have now, which is one of the best golfing and socializing opportunities in Southeastern Wisconsin. Please come out and see and play it. Meet the staff. Then talk to some of us who play there regularly and we'll answer candidly any questions you have. There are several ways you can join without making a long-term commitment. You'll be glad you did!”

”Just wanted to drop you all a note of appreciation for all that you provide to, not only members, but the public at large as well. Muskego Lakes Country Club offers so many attractive incentives for anyone willing to participate. Muskego Lakes has become a golf venue that provides a wonderful golfing experience through a challenging layout, to tremendous customer service, quality food and beverages and all for a very competitive fee. What empresses me year after year is your dedication to continually improve the course, clubhouse and service all with the customer in mind. I know of no other semi-private or public course that offers its members what Muskego Lakes offers. The amount of weekend golf events, social events and perks that are part of a membership at MLCC are more than generous on your part, in fact it is so obvious to anyone that your members and customers are your number one concern. Please keep up the great work. I've been a MLCC member for 11 years now and have no intentions of leaving the great golf and social experience that is Muskego Lakes Country Club.

”My wife and I have been members at Muskego Lakes Country Club for 7 years. Our reasons for joining included an interesting, challenging course that would allow us to walk 18 holes and tee time availability two weeks in advance, at a reasonable cost. As we played we found the course to always be in good condition with continuous improvements. Most importantly, we have made many new friends and acquaintances. The women in the club have been especially welcoming and encouraging towards new members to compete in member events and attend tournaments with other members.

”Thank You Doesn’t Cover It!

Many people have asked me why I belong to Muskego Lakes when there are so many golf course options out there. My mother passed away unexpectedly on April 22 after a short 12 day battle with cancer, and I was quickly reminded why I make the yearly decision to join. It’s not really about the golf. It’s about being part of an extended family who are there for you when you need them most. It was a beautiful thing to watch how an e-mail, informing a few friends that mom was gravely ill, spread the news like wildfire. E-mails and texts flooded in with words of encouragement. The e-mails lead to cards, beautiful flowers and countless hugs at the funeral. The hugs and words of support continued when I returned to the club. I expected it to end there, but you impressed me more. I was informed that a memorial was being planned on the 8th tee block. I was told a collection was made and donations were made by wait staff, pro shop staff, grounds crew and members. The only possible way to thank all of you is through this newsletter.

The memorial is beautiful. It warms my heart and wells me up every time I pass it. It reminds me of both your support and my mother. Mom was one of my best golfing buddies as many of you know. She was a member for a short time and was planning on playing in our Thursday night ladies league. She got a kick out of being a Country Club member at the age of 78. The “Burning Bush Tree” in the memorial is a perfect representation of Joan Henderson: she was a fire cracker and put a spark into everything she did. She built a relationship with everyone she met. She was an excellent example of how to live life to the fullest.

So many thanks to ALL of you at Muskego Lakes Golf Club. I am honored to be a part of this group of people and am humbled by the extent of your support. The memorial of my mother will be a constant reminder of both your kindness and her life. Take care, Amy Gehrke

”This is a traditional course that requires thought and execution. A great value particularly with the specials the club has introduced this year and the staff and service are unparalleled. A great place to call your home course.
It is such a fabulous course!! It has a great group of members, but also has great deals for the public! The staff is really great, and so are the pros out there.
Great course, great golf events... for both club members and public, great pricing, great staff!!
The course presents a fair challenge to most golfers. I have always been treated well by the staff in the 20 + years I have been a member. it truly is my "home" course.
The people, the member events, and the special treatment we get. Also quite the challenging course. Always making improvements. Just good fun!!
The combination of golf course quality, member friendly programs, fellowship and learning opportunities make this facility a superior choice.
