Did You Know? Other Designs by Larry Packard…

Besides designing Muskego Lakes Country Club in 1970, Larry Packard has designed over 300 golf courses throughout the United States with a majority of them being in the upper mid-west. Here in Wisconsin the 18 hole courses he designed are: Bristol Oaks, Mascoutin GC, Baraboo CC, Brown County GC, Chaska GC, Naga Waukee GC, Oakwood Park GC, and Tumblebrook/Western Lakes GC. Nine hole course he included: Baraboo CC, Glacier Woods, Rib Mountain, River Island, Riversbend, Skyline, Westview CC now River Edge and Winagamie. Nine hole additions were at Bass Lake, Chenequa Cc, Minocqua CC, Stevens Point CC, Watertown CC and Wausau CC. He also did some redesign work at Big Foot CC, Bull’s Eye CC, La Crosse CC now Forest Hills, Merill Hills CC and Peninsula State Park. So, when you play these others courses look for the similarities in design that normally include welll contoured elevated greens, a variety of doglegs, at least one sand trap greenside and a couple of fairway bunkers about 230 yards off the tee.
